NEW consists of a selection of works made by British artists since 1990, which have been acquired by the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. The exhibition includes paintings, photographs, sculptures, prints, drawing, artists books, a DVD projection, and installation works, and illustrates the breadth of artistic practice in the United Kingdom today.
Many of the works in NEW could not have been acquired without the generous financial assistance of various benefactors, including the Ian Paul Fund, the National Art Collections Fund, the Knapping Fund and the Patrons of the National Galleries of Scotland. Others have given works to the collection, including the Contemporary Art Society and Charles Booth-Clibborn of The Paragon Press. We are grateful to them all.
